Visit of An Taoiseach to Christ King

Monday 10 th October 2022 is without a doubt a day that we will always remember in Christ King. Our student leaders were looking forward in anticipation and excitement to welcoming the leader of our country, an Taoiseach, Micheál Martin to our school. Our Student Council and Junior Forum greeted an Taoiseach with a guard of honour as he arrived at our school.

It was a wonderful occasion during which our students had an opportunity to meet an Taoiseach. Our Head Girl and Deputy Head Girls, along with members of the Student Council and Junior Forum welcomed our invited guests to this unique occasion. Maya Mahon sang Amhrán na bhFiann and was accompanied by musicians, Megan Hosford and Roisin Walsh on trumpet. Our student leader and Leaving Cert student Ayushi Mahajan spoke about the opportunities provided by a Christ King education.

An Taoiseach spoke to our students about the importance of leadership and the opportunities that lie ahead for them, reminding them to remember to have self-belief and confidence in their ability, working collectively and taking care of each other and our world.

It was an inspiring address by an Taoiseach and will undoubtedly resonate with and encourage our young student leaders in Christ King. Our Meitheal team welcomed and provided refreshments for an Taoiseach and our invited guests. We look forward with great excitement to the new developments to the school infrastructure announced by an Taoiseach during his visit to our school. Go raibh míle maith agat a Thaoisigh as an tacaíocht atá tugtha agat dár scoilse.
