Celebrating Europe Day

On Friday 17th May, Finance Minister Michael McGrath, accompanied by Karen van Vlierberge, Ambassador of Begium to Ireland, visited our school to celebrate Europe Day. First, Second, Transition Year and Fifth Year students assembled in the hall to welcome our guests who spoke to the students about the many benefits of being part of the European Union and the wonderful opportunities our membership affords them for their future.

The Minister and Ambassador were formally welcomed by our students in twelve different language, demonstrating the diversity in our school.

The Fifth Year Economics class had a number of questions for Minister McGrath about how he manages the overall budget and finances for the country.
