Department of Education & Skills Advice to Schools:

1. Visiting the School Procedures:

  • All meetings will be by appointment only, we will be unable to facilitate unscheduled meetings no matter how short. Because of the need for increased supervision, parents may find that the Principal and Deputy Principals are less readily available than in previous years. Every effort will be made to return calls, arrange meetings etc. as speedily as possible.
  • Parents should not drop in any items to the School that their child may have forgotten unless it relates to medical or general health matters. Please telephone the reception beforehand to ensure the item can be collected from outside the school main entrance door. This is to limit the persons interacting on site.
  • Year Tutors may request more remote meetings to deal with matters relating to your daughter.
  • The reception will be screened off.
  • Telephone resolution of any matters is preferable. Should a face to face meeting be required, appointments are only possible when the building is free of students and staff.
  • Arrangements for Parent Council AGM, Open Day, Parent-Teacher Meetings have not yet been confirmed and parents will be informed in due course.

2. Face Coverings: The DES has issued updated advice on face coverings.

  • The advice is that cloth face coverings be used and we advise parents to source additional face masks for their daughter. One mask shall be provided in your daughter's care package.
  • If your child has breathing difficulties, sensory issues or special needs that would make a cloth face-covering difficult, she can wear a visor but with care. Medical confirmation of your daughter's medical issue for not wearing a mask is required.
  • Masks should be relatively plain in colour, with no embellishment or illustration. There is no need to buy branded masks. Offensive or inappropriate masks will not be accepted.
