Transition Year

Philosophy

The aim of the Transition Year Programme is to promote the personal, emotional, social, aesthetic and vocational development of students and to prepare them for their role as autonomous, participative and responsible members of society. ("Guidelines for Transition Year" Department of Education). In Christ King, there is a strong emphasis on skills-based learning in Transition Year and on guiding students towards taking responsibility for their own learning. Although Transition Year is optional, the vast majority of students follow the Transition Year Programme.
